Knoxville Rail Jam July 13th & 14th (Video)

Travis Marine’s Rock & Rail Jam

Several top pro and regional riders gathered in the home town of Mastercraft, Knoxville, Tennessee, this past weekend for Travis Marine’s first annual Rock & Rail Jam. Travis Marine, Knoxville’s Mastercraft dealership, hosted the event, which brought together local bands and top pro and regional riders for a two day battle of the bands and Rail Jam put on by Step Up Productions.

Pro riders J.D. Webb and Rob Corum kicked off the Rail Jam portion of the event on Friday night as local musicians took to the stage. Travis Marine provided the burgers and, of course, plenty of Red Bull was on hand for the crowd. Step Up Production’s three- pool Rail Jam set up included a rail that launched riders up and over Red Bull’s Pinzgauer vehicle, as well a new kicker option.

With minimal room for error, J.D. took to the Red Bull Pinz rail first with a big board slide to gap to back lip with a 270 out. Rob followed J.D. with a similar run. No one touched the kicker during the first Rail Jam demo, but calling J.D. out on the mic a little bit got him hitting the kicker and, as a result, pulling some pretty big grabs. By the second and final demo of the night, J.D. had the kicker dialed in.

On Saturday, Knoxville natives Jeff House and Jeremy Baker of Hyperlite showed up to give J.D. a run for his money on the kicker. Alternating demos between band sets, the riders put together some great runs including Jeff’s Indy Tantrum and Jeremy’s 540.

With the help of Step Up Productions, Mastercraft, Harper Porsche, Rice GMC, Riks Music, and Destination Cycles, Travis Marine’s first annual Rock & Rail Jam was able to draw more attention to the sport of wakeboarding by bringing it to a central location, which gave locals a chance to experience wakeboarding up-close.
